We are proud to be an accredited teaching practice for the Hull York Medical School (HYMS), supporting the development of the next generation of healthcare professionals. Teaching is an integral part of our practice culture, and patients may occasionally be invited to contribute to this important educational work.
Medical Students (Years 4 & 5) We regularly host senior medical students from HYMS during their clinical placements. These students are in the advanced stages of their training and work closely with our experienced GPs and clinical team. Under appropriate supervision, students may:
- Sit in during consultations
- Undertake supervised patient assessments
- Participate in clinical discussions and learning activities
Their presence helps ensure they gain valuable real-world experience in general practice.
Nursing Students In addition to medical education, we support the training of nursing students from Hull. These placements provide future nurses with essential primary care experience, working alongside our nursing and clinical teams.
Your Choice as a Patient Your comfort and confidentiality are always our priority. If a student is present during your appointment, you will always be asked for your consent. You are free to decline at any time, and your care will not be affected in any way.
By supporting teaching within our practice, we help contribute to high-quality healthcare for the future.
